Tommy's Reflection
With my piece Insanity Reigns rhythm is king. Seeing as how in class we were tasked with creating each part of the song separately it was interesting to see how everything came together in the end. Each segment of my composition was made with the idea of experimentation in mind. This was my Franken-composition. To build anticipation my piece slowly grows in intensity throughout the intro with each bar building up to the smooth transition of intro to main theme. Using a rhythm me and my group crafted I created several variations of it to implement into my piece’s entirety. This carries to my bridge. The bridge is where my creativity truly shines using an innovative technique to produce a new sound. With the return to theme I simply wanted to make a challenge and repeat my most difficult lines of my piece. Sitting there playing with a bucket paid off in making something people would be surprised by. The outro was a sample of the intro of a character I love, Jason Voorhees. It is intended to be reminiscent of the spooky mist effect sound that leaves somebody wondering about the rest. With it ending it has the listener wanting more or simply thinking about it more in depth.
