I’d say this is like a sport because you have to build and put everything you know to use to create a perfect piece and then actually going out to perform what you had prepared.
The Process:
I would say the most challenging part of creating the piece was trying to play what you wrote even though you just recently learned how to read musical notes.
Deangelo's Reflection
I was asked to compose a musical piece by my general music teacher using a bucket, sticks, and the knowledge we know about reading and writing music note and the different sections such as Intro, theme, bridge, return theme, and ending. I wanted the Intro to not start off on the first count because it gives the piece a more groovy texture to it. The Theme was pretty easy to compose because i just took different variations of the same bar but what was hard about it was I had to find what order sounds the best. I wanted the Bridge to be different allowing the listeners to hear something new rather than the same rhythm. For the Return Theme I just used the first two lines of my original theme to bring back the original rhythm of the piece. For the Ending I wanted to end with a bang so I had the piece start off with soft notes while keeping the original rhythm leading up to the climatic loud bang. I would say the most challenging part of creating the piece was trying to play what you wrote even though you just recently learned how to read musical notes. Another challenge for me was trying to get a good Intro to start off the piece that's where I got help from Mr. Dresser who suggested that I start the beat on the second beat. What I enjoyed most about the process was actually playing the piece because I couldn't wait to see how it would all sound together. The skills I got from this project is knowing how to read musical notes. I’d say this is like a sport because you have to build and put everything you know to use to create a perfect piece and then actually going out to perform what you had prepared.
